ABOUT CYNTHIA

Local Small Business Owner & Industry Leader

Cynthia is the founder of Propel Consulting, a legal technology company.  Cynthia has over two decades of experience in the legal field.  Prior to Propel, Cynthia was a Senior Litigation Paralegal and Acting Director of Litigation and Trial Support at a top law firm in Orange County.

 

Cynthia holds an MBA from Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from The George Washington University.  Cynthia earned a paralegal certificate from UC Irvine and holds several industry certifications.  Cynthia also served on the chapter board of several industry organizations.

Cynthia has spoken at several conferences on various topics such as women’s empowerment and embracing technology and served as a mentor for the Orange County Paralegal Association’s mentorship program.

Family

Cynthia Vasquez is a California native - born and raised in San Diego.  She and her husband, Alan, have been married for 17 years.  They moved to South Orange County in 2005 and Mission Viejo District 3 in 2011.  Their daughters both attend public schools in Mission Viejo District 3.  Alan has been a healthcare provider in the PTSD program at the VA Long Beach (Veterans Affairs) for over a decade.

Commitment to Public Service

Cynthia is a former Girl Scout whose love for community service was established at a young age.  Cynthia is a parent volunteer at Bathgate Elementary and a Girl Scout Troop Leader.  She has always made a point of volunteering in her children's schools as much as she can.  Cynthia is also a seasoned Troop Cookie Coordinator (Cookie Mom) and was a YMCA volunteer.
 

At the beginning of the pandemic Cynthia served as the Mission Viejo Distribution location for Healthcare Mask Collaborative (HMC).  In addition to sewing hundreds of cloth face masks, Cynthia managed the busy distribution point where sewers dropped off completed masks and picked up supplies.  HMC distributed over 68,000 cloth masks to 150 organizations, including healthcare, our military such as Camp Pendleton and USS Theodore Roosevelt in Guam, first responders such as OC Sheriff's Department, and non-profits.
